Inspired by Dr. King, Fred Brown Became Lead at NIH in Increasing Diversity

Fred Brown helped lead the NIH Minority Student Faculty Partnership Program, and continues to serve youth through Asbury's Gaithersburg Beloved Community Initiative.

Fred Brown will speak at the Benjamin Gaither Center on "My Martin Luther King Story: Inspired to be an Inspiration" as part of Gaithersburg City's month-long celebration of African American History Month. A driver for Dr. King, Fred Brown went on to become a scientist at the National Institutes of Health where he worked with others to introduce more diversity, and mentored minority youth from across the nation who were interested in the sciences.
