Rachel Carson exposed the destructive force of chemical pesticides in her 1962 book.

We are excited to welcome Linda Lear, Ph.D., author of Rumblings of an Avalanche: The Legacy of Silent Spring to the Rosborough Cultural Arts & Wellness Center for a discussion of Rachel Carson's ground-breaking book, credited for launching the environmental movement. Hosted by Asbury Methodist Village's resident-run community outreach program, the Beloved Community Initiative, and the Montgomery County Historical Society, this will be an illuminating evening. Dr. Lear will be on hand after the discussion for a book signing. The public is welcome to attend. Tickets are $5 at the door and $3 for Historical Society members and Asbury residents. Please call 301-216-4106 for more information. Please join us Saturday, April 20 at 7 p.m.
