Mary is the hostess of Diamond Apartments’ 10th floor, always welcoming us into her apartment and answering new residents’ questions. A faithful member of Asbury’s Catholic community, it is Mary who knows when someone is in the hospital or goes to Wilson temporarily and makes a visit with a card signed by everyone. She offers rides to the airport or to the Park & Ride for BWI, and takes non-driving residents for doctors’ appointments and grocery shopping. She organizes the bus trip series to the Strathmore for the Baltimore Symphony and for the National Philharmonic concerts, primarily because she thinks that Asbury residents who no longer drive should still have the opportunity to hear the music they love.  As a former nurse, she is full of helpful advice on managing medical conditions. Although Mary is not known to many outside of Diamond’s 10th floor because of her unassuming ways, for those whose lives she touches, she is the “glue” for those of us who live here. - Carol Watkins
