The oldest continuously performing community theater in Maryland, the Montgomery Playhouse has been in existence since 1929. But it wasn’t until 2000 that theater organizers reached an agreement with Asbury Methodist Village to move their main stage productions to Asbury’s brand new, state-of-the-art 275-seat venue. Now this venerable and nationally recognized award-winning ensemble performs right here for the entire area – and free of charge for Asbury residents.
