Meet Marilyn Gaut

When Marilyn moved to Asbury 10 years ago, she was determined to take a rest from her busy volunteer schedule. Thankfully for us, a disposition to help others combined with a campus culture of involvement meant that pledge didn't last very long! Her passion for staying involved means the world to countless Asbury associates and residents and Gaithersburg neighbors.

Alzheimer's Awareness Month

November is Alzheimer's Awareness Month, but at Asbury we focus on improving the lives of those living with memory loss every day. Asbury's director of therapeutic recreation, Elaine Kielman, shares some of the valuable lessons she has learned that have helped her create meaningful experiences for residents. Asbury also recently adopted the nationally acclaimed Music & Memory program, highlighted in the 2014 Sundance winner Alive Inside. Watch how iPods are bringing individualized music therapy to residents here.
